The event, which streamed live at 2pm PT on PlayStation's YouTube channel, opened with a bombshell announcement: Santa Monica Studio confirmed a God of War Greek Trilogy Remake is in early development, simultaneously "shadow-dropping" God of War: Sons of Sparta—a 2D action-platformer following a younger Kratos—available immediately on the PlayStation Store.

The Castlevania franchise made a stunning return after over a decade of silence. Konami revealed Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, developed by Dead Cells creators Motion Twin and Evil Empire, marking the beloved series' first new entry since 2014. The pixel-art aesthetic and roguelike elements drew immediate comparisons to the critically acclaimed Dead Cells formula.

Bungie showcased extensive Marathon gameplay, the studio's upcoming multiplayer extraction shooter. A Server Slam open preview weekend is scheduled for February 26 through March 2, giving players hands-on time ahead of the game's March 5 launch date. The preview aims to stress-test servers and gather community feedback before the full release.

Other major reveals included Kena: Scars of Kosmora, the follow-up to 2021's acclaimed Bridge of Spirits, arriving on PS5 and PC later in 2026. IO Interactive provided a deeper look at 007 First Light, their original take on James Bond's origin story. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots finally escapes "PS3 jail" as part of the Master Collection Vol. 2.

PlayStation Plus subscribers received immediate value as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 dropped on the service February 17, expanding the blockbuster's reach to millions of additional players. The timing aligns with Sony's strategy of bringing first-party exclusives to the subscription service roughly 18 months after launch.
